The pilgrimage to the Lord of “Qoyllority” means in Spanish “Star of the Snow” or “The Shining Snow” is a religious festival is held every year in the months of May or June the date is not exact due to the Andean calendar, but this between these two months. This party is held in the Ocongate district at an altitude of 4,750 masl. In the province of Quispicanchis in the department of Cusco, where more than 10,000 pilgrims and 2,000 dancers go, all with great faith, exclusively to visit the Lord of Qoyllority, since in the time of the Incas, they also made the pilgrimage to Ausangate for the gratitude that the water provided them for their agriculture.

Festivity where the religious syncretism (Andean Catholic) is appreciated, venerating the image of a Crucified Christ, painted on a rock, at the same time on a snowy peak near the faithful who come carrying out ancestral rites. To reach this place, an 8.5 km long hike from a place called “Mahuayani” is in the district of Ocongate. Subsequently, in November 2011, Unesco registered the “Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of the Lord of Qoyllority” as a member of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The festival is organized by the Brotherhood of the Lord of Qoyllority, a lay organization that is also responsible for maintaining order during the celebration.

Among the dances, which are danced are, Ukukus, Capac Colla, Capac Chunchu, Negrillo, Cusquenian Carnival and others.
